How to Monitor Clicks on links you Twitter using bt.ly

This is a very quick tip that adds value while taking up no time at all.

If you use the bit.ly service to shorten your links on Twitter (or for any other purpose), you can just insert /info/ into the url to get a graph of how many clicks there have been.

This morning on the Wardman Wire I published this article:

One year to an Election: Become Active on Repressive Laws

and this short link was created automatically by Tweetdeck:

http://bit.ly/6CXwR

if I add in /info/ I get:

http://bit.ly/info/6CXwR

which displays this graph (click on the screenshot for a full size view):

Two of the clients that I use for Twittering, Tweetdeck and Twhirl, can use this service.

Bit.ly has other facilities available, but this is easy, and very, very elegant.
